Pilot Testing
Intervention Quality, Accounting, & Reporting (QAR) Standard and Guidance Pilot
The AIM Platform concluded its pilot of the draft Intervention Quality, Accounting & Reporting (QAR) Standard and Guidance in December 2025.
The QAR Standard, the second core output of the AIM Platform, builds on Criterion 3–11 from the draft AIM Platform Criteria, released in May 2024 and is designed to help companies account for and report on interventions deemed to be “associated with a company’s value chain” per the AIM Platform Association Test.
Following a similar approach to our Association Test pilot, the QAR Standard was piloted by 20+ global companies operating in diverse sectors with real-world interventions linked to their value chains (as per the Association Test). The QAR Standard pilot ran from September – December 2025. Feedback received during the pilot process will be used to update and refine the AIM Platform Standard and Guidance
Association Test Pilot
In early 2025, the AIM Platform piloted the Association Test, a key component of the Advanced and Indirect Mitigation (AIM) Platform. The test focused primarily on Criterion 1 from the draft AIM Platform Criteria, released in May 2024.
The Association Test is designed to help companies assess whether a potential emissions reduction investment, referred to as an intervention, is sufficiently associated with their value chain. This assessment is a critical step in determining whether the intervention can count toward a company’s climate target.
The draft version of the Association Test was shared with participating companies in January 2025, and the pilot ran through April 2025. Feedback from this pilot is now being used to revise and improve the test to ensure it is practical and applicable across sectors. An anonymized summary can be found below.
The final version of the Association Test is expected to be published in early 2026, alongside the Quality, Accounting, and Reporting (QAR) Standard.
